Tevon Eversly, a sophomore at Bedford Academy High School, is an eloquent, intelligent and charismatic young scholar.
Last year as a freshman, Tevon successfully completed four Regents exams. Last year, he also completed a Borough of Manhattan Community College Introduction to Engineering course.
Tevon has participated and continues to participate in the Medgar Evers College STEP Program. This participation led to a third-place finish at the 2010 Science Competition in Albany, NY.
Their award-winning project saw Tevon and two other classmates, under the supervision of Living Environment teacher Ms. J. Antoine, submit a study entitled “Advancement in HIV Treatment”.
While his interest is law, Tevon has an aptitude in engineering and science, and it is obvious that he has a passion for the subject as he was enrolled in the Summer Energy Academy that was sponsored by the American Association of Blacks in Energy, Con Edison and National Grid.
He is currently involved in the robotics program at Bedford and NYU Polytechnic and is also currently taking Biology at York College on Saturdays. Tevon plans to become a lawyer and he is clearly on his way with the plan he has outlined for himself. By Cluny Lavache
