Bed-Stuy Alive! Concludes On Saturday, October 16th With The House Tour And Strut

The 32nd Annual House Tour of Bedford-Stuyvesant, sponsored by the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Inc. will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme is, “The Legacy Continues…Moving Forward”. Throughout the years, the tour has attracted brownstone and limestone buffs from around the world, as well as thousands of community residents who come to take pride in one of the country’s most beautiful neighborhoods.  “We want to make certain that our neighbors continue to share in their own great legacy of family and community”, said Ava Barnett, President of the Brownstoners.   The day will begin with a FREE homebuyers’ seminar. The FREE seminar will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10 a.m. The self- guided tour will begin at 11:00 a.m. until 4 p.m. The starting point is “Old Boys High School”, located at 832 Marcy at Putnam Avenue. Start your holiday shopping early. The Bed-Stuy Bazaar will be open from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and has become the destination for early holiday shopping.  Tickets for the house tour are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 on the day of the tour.  Proceeds support scholarships for college bound graduates from Boys and Girls High School and the programs at Brooklyn Academy (“Old Boys High School”).  Advance ticket locations are online at www.brownstonersofbedstuy.org.
The 7th Annual Bedford Stuyvesant Artists’ Association Studio Strut is an annual affair that is designed to showcase the artistic legacy of the Bedford Stuyvesant community. In its continuing efforts to bring art to the people, exhibits will be on display in various businesses and galleries on Saturday, October 16th.  Strut brochures will be available at the starting point located at Zion Gallery 152 MacDonough Street.  For more information, go to BeSAAorg.blogspot.com.
