It was a day of beginnings, endings, celebrations, memorials, farewells and laughter with Congresswoman Yvette Clarke’s tribute to 15 Shining Stars at the Milk River Club on Atlantic Avenue and a stop down the block at Bob Law’s Namaskar Health and Wellness Emporium to poignant celebrations of lives lived: for Prince, an amazing Brooklyn birthday bash produced and directed by host Spike Lee at Restoration Plaza and for Ronald Edgar McPhatter, athlete, fitness trainer and
personal security professional, a loving hours-long tribute led by his family and friends at historic Brown Memorial Church, it was a day of bittersweet moments all somehow placed in perspective by the amazing Dick Gregory later that evening at Caroline’s in Manhattan.
